In the past few months, people have approached me with their independent business opportunities - "isn't that interesting!" People from competitive companies are also asking me for employment! Fifteen to eighteen percent of gross business is from referral or passive advertising equating to more than my original turnover two years ago!!!

Using your principals with property (no money down), I now have in our portfolio 2.5 million dollars worth of property with town houses currently under construction and we own our own home and beach front holiday home before 38 years of age.

My collage creation done in Coolum is more that fifty percent a reality and all within 2 years!

"I thought I’d write to let you know what Debs and I have been up to since leaving Entrepreneurs training (or boot camp as we now call it!). Thus far, I have left my job (previously at a bank), we picked up a video arcade (like space invaders type machines) that was advertised in the paper for FREE and are now about to put it on the market for $30K (easy money eh!). We also picked up a women’s fashion boutique yesterday. It is currently run by staff each day, however we have to go and buy the stock from factory outlet stores. We paid $11,800 for the shop, which wasn’t a bad price, although after revising some of the Entrepreneur’s Training material, we have both realised that we could have done better. Both purchases have been huge learning experiences for the both of us, and just like at the course, we have been getting up real early and going to bed late (hence the boot camp) as there has been a lot to do and talk about in the last seven weeks. These are definitely exciting times for the two of us as we continue to learn from our experiences and strategize our next moves.

Some of the things Brad taught at Entrepreneur’s I’d heard before from reading his books, watching his videos and attending his seminars, but somehow it hadn’t sunk in. I knew what I needed to do, but I just wasn’t doing it!?!?! (Sound familiar?) I think one of the most important lessons I took away from Entrepreneur’s was what Brad said about fooling your subconcious into thinking you have so much money you can afford to give it away. Well it works! I got back and shared what I had learnt with my husband. We were both so focused on trying to hang on to the money that we did have, that we didn’t have our hands open to receive any more. We chose the 2 charities that were most important to us, called them up for their bank account details and now make a regular monthly donation to both of them. We have also leveraged our time by hiring a cleaner and have brought more beauty into our lives by having fresh flowers delivered once a month. Yet, we still have more money ‘left over’ than we ever had before. We have set up a budget allocating money to expenses, savings, debt reduction etc and have seen a noticeable difference in our financial situation since doing that. We have also reduced our debts by approx $15,000 (which doesn’t sound like much, but it was just hanging around not being dealt with) and are virtually debt-free. We have also, since opening our hands to receive money, had a significant amount of money come to us by fair means and are in the final stages of purchasing our first investment property ­positive cashflow, more than 15% below valuation. I have also made a few offers on businesses, but none as yet have fitted within my rules, so I’m still looking. I have 2 big sheets of paper (flip-chart size) on the wall at home, which has action points on it, plus our rules for buying properties and businesses to remind me to stay focused. There’s so much more I could say. What I say about myself, to myself when I am by myself has made a big difference in my attitude towards things. I have ‘fired’ some of my friends and now choose very carefully who I spend my time with. What I have achieved in comparison to some other graduates is probably quite small, but I’ve done more in my life in the last 6 months than I had in the past."

"Just after attending the course I bought a 2 flat property returning 9.5% on no money down. A few months later we were in Sydney and spotted an opportunity to buy into Woolloomooloo, which is just on the city fringe and on its way up with the developments on the waterfront area. So we bought our first off shore property (2brm terrace with off street secure parking) 100% financed and in 9 months have seen a 10% capital growth. The property is tenanted for 18 months - returns not as good as NZ though. Still it is a foot in the door for our planned move to Australia and is providing leverage for the future. We now have a total of 6 properties. Since returning from the course we have been searching for a business and getting somewhat frustrated with not finding one that really hit the mark. Looked at dozens but none met our rules until we found one in February this year. Patience finally paid off! After several weeks of due diligence and negotiating we bought a chain of 3 up­market Barber Salons in the CBD. Paid half the asking price, return of banks investment in 12 - 18 months... The bank couldn’t wait to give us the money... It’s got great cashflow and is fully managed by a good jockey! No marketing or systems in place when we bought it but the systems are all there now. Plans for the future are to use the cashflow to reduce debt on property assets, buy another business, maybe franchise the barber salons or sell them off individually... but for now we are having a great time and a load of fun."
